Accrington grew rapidly in Victorian times on cotton, textile printing and machinery making, and the town gave its name to the hard-wearing NORI bricks made at Huncoat, which were used in Blackpool Tower. Terraced houses make up over half of all homes in Hyndburn, much of it Victorian stone and brick terracing built for mill workers. These homes typically have narrow, steep staircases, and fitting the right slim stairlift to them is a large part of our work in the BB5 area.

Stairlifts in Great Harwood
Great Harwood. Great Harwood grew as a cotton town, and by 1920 the local weavers’ association had more than 5,000 members. John Mercer, known locally as the father of Great Harwood, invented mercerisation, a cotton finishing process. Today the town sits about five miles north-east of Blackburn on the edge of the Ribble Valley, and homes range from older properties near Town Hall Square to newer housing. We measure every staircase in person before recommending a stairlift.
We cover Great Harwood and the surrounding area, including Rishton, Clayton-le-Moors and nearby Ribble Valley villages. Call us on 07534 654944.
