At its peak Oldham was the world’s most productive cotton-spinning town, with over 360 mills, and by 1909 it spun more cotton than France and Germany combined. The town is known for its red-brick terraced houses, many in Accrington brick, built mostly between 1870 and 1920 for mill workers, with newer housing towards the semi-rural east. Those terraces typically have narrow, steep stairs, and we fit slim stairlifts to them every week.

Stairlifts for Oldham’s High Pennine Ground
Oldham stands on high, rugged Pennine ground between the rivers Irk and Medlock, rising towards the moors of Saddleworth. Many streets climb steeply, so some homes have steps up to the front door as well as steep stairs inside, and we can supply outdoor stairlifts for external steps. From terraces near Alexandra Park and Tommyfield Market to stone cottages in the Saddleworth villages, our surveyor will look at the whole route into and through your home.
