Stairlift Comparison Questions
Common questions when choosing between stairlift models.
Which stairlift is best for a narrow staircase?
For straight stairs, the Handicare 1100 has a very slim rail and folds to 320 mm. For curved stairs, the Flow X fits staircases from 610 mm wide. We measure your stairs at the free survey to confirm what fits.
What is the difference between a single rail and a twin rail curved stairlift?
A single rail takes up less room on the stairs and looks neater. A twin rail is often lower cost and handles some tight bends well. We will recommend the right type for your staircase.
Which stairlift has the highest weight limit?
The Handicare 1000 XXL carries up to 31.5 stone on straight stairs. For curved stairs, the Bruno CRE 2110 carries up to 30 stone.
Are reconditioned stairlifts as good as new?
They are refurbished, safety tested and covered by a 2-year parts and labour warranty, which you can extend to 5 years. The main differences are a lower price and a smaller choice of seat colours and options. More about reconditioned stairlifts.
Do the prices include fitting and VAT?
Yes. Every price on this page is a starting price that includes installation and VAT. Qualifying customers can buy VAT-free and pay less. See our full price guide.
Can I see a stairlift before I buy?
Our advisor can talk you through the models that suit your stairs at your free home survey, so you can compare them in your own home.
