Platinum Ultimate Curved Stairlift: Features and Prices
A Curved Stairlift for Difficult Staircases
The Platinum Ultimate is a single-rail curved stairlift designed to fit staircases that other lifts struggle with. Its rail starts on the first step rather than running out across the hallway floor, so nothing sticks out at the bottom of the stairs.
It can be set up to travel forward facing, has a powered footplate, and an optional powered swivel makes getting on and off easier. It carries users up to 19 stone as standard, or 25 stone in the heavy duty version.
Every price is a starting price that includes installation, VAT and a parts and labour warranty (3 years on new, 2 years on reconditioned). Your exact price depends on your staircase and the options you choose, and we confirm it in writing after a free home survey.

What Owners Say
There is very little independent owner feedback on the Ultimate. We found one genuine owner review, which reported juddering and noise on the bends. Platinum has since introduced a redesigned speed limiter that it says removes the metal noise on bends. Platinum’s brand page on Trustpilot has only seven reviews across all its models, with a low overall score and complaints about breakdowns and waits for parts.

Platinum Ultimate Questions
Common questions about the Platinum Ultimate.
How much does a Platinum Ultimate stairlift cost?
From £5,495 reconditioned or £6,995 new, fully installed and including VAT. Because every rail is made to measure, we confirm the exact price after a free survey.
What is the weight limit of the Platinum Ultimate?
The standard version carries up to 19 stone (120 kg) and the heavy duty version up to 25 stone (160 kg). We confirm which version suits you at the survey.
Why does it start on the first step?
Most curved stairlifts need a length of rail running out across the floor at the bottom. The Ultimate’s rail starts on the first step, which keeps the hallway clear and can avoid blocking a nearby door.
Is a single rail better than a twin rail?
A single rail looks neater and takes up less room. A twin rail can be lower cost. We will recommend the right type for your stairs.
